Cannabis use disorders are becoming more common in the states that were the first to legalize cannabis fully. Young adults are using tremendous amount of THC, and the situation is not pretty, especially for young people whose brains are not fully developed.
A lot of what we're seeing didn't exist five years ago: a significant increase in Cannabis-induced psychosis and the chemical interactions with the brain that are impacting mental stability.
Parents need to start educating themselves. What their kids are smoking is not the weed they smoked when they were young. People don't understand what's currently out there. If your kids are vaping, you do not know the content.
In the end, its use can create significant unintended consequences. We work with families to help them and guide them towards a new path of healing and recovery.
