Celeste Ann Racicot, MEd, CRC, CVE

Vocational Consultant

Growing up, my family was very involved in being of service in our community and the joy of assisting someone to meet their goals and improve their quality of life was near and dear to us. I started volunteering through a local church in high school and I knew immediately that this would become a career for me. My high school guidance counselor encouraged me to study creative arts therapies, and I am forever grateful! And, after all these years, I still feel the joy and the satisfaction of my chosen work.

I studied Creative Arts in Human Services/ Visual and Performing Arts at Russell Sage College, earning a B.A. I then earned a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with a concentration in Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment. Additionally, I have received advanced psychometrics training for neuropsychological evaluations and the utilization of cognitive rehabilitation in counseling and case management practices.

I am a big fan of using mindfulness in my counseling, supervising, teaching, and mentoring. Thich Nhat Hanh has influenced my practice of being present, focused, and aware. The phrase “present moment wonderful moment” is my daily mantra for peace, calm, and joy.

There are an abundance of things that I enjoy when not at work! Likely, my favorite is gardening, and I am creating an oasis in my backyard and am trying to figure out where to put a labyrinth. The challenge is that it will compete with the current area for playing croquet with my family!!! A favorite pastime during the non-snow or mud seasons here in New England!  I like nature, travel, spending time with friends and family and going to musical events! The only thing missing right now is a dog I’m not quite ready for another one, although I’m getting there.
